Do you love to travel? Read this.

I met Frances, a delightful woman, a few months ago. Her energy and passion for travel intrigued me.

“Over the past few years, I’ve fallen in love with all things French, especially Paris.” Frances says that she traded her previous life to “savor ‘la vie en rose’”—the sweet life!

How can you not be attracted to that attitude?

L’Abeille Francaise is the business/website she created to share her food and travel adventures. “Just like l’abeille—the bee, I love buzzing around… seeking… architectural, cultural, and gastronomic charms… and sampling them wherever I land.”

Irresistible!

In 2019 I wrote a blog post about Notre Dame, What it Means to Me and Why I Feel Blessed. I expressed my profound emotions being in the La catedral and feeling the power of its history and then the enormity of watching it burn.

So, when I read Frances’s blog posts Saving Notre Dame: An Epic Endeavour Part 1 & 2 and saw the photos showing all the work being done to reconstruct Notre Dame, I was thankful. I felt I was walking around this amazing building with her and listening as she explained what was being done and why.

Some of the images are shocking. Seeing what was and now what is, is alarming. But Frances’s words are heartening, especially her wish:

“God-willing, Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris will be saved and returned to her former glory. And that, before long, we will once again see the roses at her feet, her majestic towers shining in the sun and a new flèche reaching towards the heavens.”

I so agree, thank you, Frances.

"Why aren’t all cookbooks like this? As someone who doesn’t love to cook and doesn’t really know what I’m doing, finally there’s a book that breaks things down clearly and actually makes it fun." —Jane Hamill
