I Have Exciting News!

I’m having a book-signing party!

COVID and the COVID lockdown had many effects on everyone in this country. Some were bad (the frightening number of deaths, the isolation and rancor it caused) and some were good (friendships found through new technologies and many projects were completed).

In my case, I wrote a book! Le Kitchen Cookbook: a Workbook is everything you need to know to be a good cook. But one of the things that happens when you publish a book during a pandemic is that everything occurs at a distance. There isn’t a lot of face-to-face, so there was no formal book launch. That fact didn’t diminish the pleasure of signing my first book and sending it by mail to the purchasers, but I’ll admit: I missed the party.

Recently, I was asked by French-American Aid for Children (“FAAFC”) to attend their annual benefit, “A Time for Giving.” The event is a heartwarming evening of generosity and charity, with the intention of assisting underserved children in both France and the USA. It’s an opportunity to gather together and make a difference—that’s important.

FAAFC was founded in 1939 and in the ensuing 84 years they have continued to raise awareness and funds to mitigate the challenges faced by vulnerable French and American children by identifying projects that will have a positive impact on their young lives.

This special evening is an opportunity to come together as a community under the patronage of Jérémie Robert, General Consul of France in New York, and enjoy a wonderful philanthropic evening in the exceptional setting of the French Consulate.

Imagine meandering through the consulate’s amazing rooms, sipping champagne and indulging in the exquisite hors d’oeuvres by renowned Chef Daniel Boulud, then exploring the holiday-themed silent auction.

I look forward to meeting you there and, of course, signing your own personal copy of my book but also any additional copies you purchase as gifts for friends and family—because I’ve been invited to join this event in my capacity as a new book author! Finally, a formal launch.

I’m thrilled that this has turned out to be my book-signing party, especially when it supports such a great cause.
