Food splashes, grease splatters, and stains happen. Aprons are important! Unfortunately, I don’t like wearing them. Instead, I wear spots all over my tops—not smart.
I have a drawer full of aprons. Most of them I got as gifts with great images or cute sayings on them. They’re fun, but no more. The problem is that they’re stiff and don’t fit well—hence I haven’t worn aprons.
That is until I found a simple chef’s apron that is soft and flexible, adjusts to fit, and has a pocket. It’s easy to clean and, most important, it keeps me clean.
I now wear them all the time.
In case you do get grease spots, this should help remove them.
Determine if your clothing can be washed.
Treat the spots before washing and drying. (Drying sets the spot.)
Dab some clear liquid dish soap on the grease and gently rub in.
Let set for 2 or 3 hours before washing.
After washing, check that the spots are gone before drying. (If the spots are still visible, repeat the process.)
Here is the good news: the chef’s aprons have arrived!
These aprons are workhorses! They are not meant to be pretty, though they are. They are meant to keep you clean, they’re soft and get softer every time you wash them. Since they are 100% cotton, they aren’t wrinkle-free. Take your apron out of the dryer while it’s still damp, pull the wrinkles out if they really bother you, and let it hang to finish drying.
There is one large center pocket perfect for tucking in your dish towel so you always have it at hand when you need it.
